Gtx 970 SC, SSC, FTW?

I was thinking about getting the GTX 970 FTW. Is the extra price of abut $40 (on amazon) worth it? Just wondering, or is one of the Super clocked or super super clocked more reasonable. Does the FTW even have a much bigger effect on performance than the other 2? Thanks, I hope I can find the best for the money! :heink:

I like the FTW , BUT THE EXTRA $40.00 isn't worth it.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.
I think generally, you get fair value for a superclocked card.

You would not be disappointed with the sc or ssc.

I have the SC, the one with the blower cooler. Always runs at 1341 boost gaming, little noisy but I use a headset so I don't mind. Solid little card.

I will ALWAYS go with the cheapest one. You can save that extra money and overclock it yourself.

Agreed, I am by no means an expert, but I've had every generation of "GPU" since the original GeForce 256. I've run ATI, nVidia hell I even had an i740 >.< (don't ask). There is absolutely no reason to pay a premium for a super special cooler unless your needs are very specific such as HTPC. I've found with the last 2 GPU's I've had both run faster than their advertised speed anyways.

Okay thank you. But the SC is more expensive than the SSC. Seems like the SSC is better which would be more expensive, which should I get out of the two now that the FTW is eliminated.

Okay thank you, but it is saying GTX 970 SSClk ACX 2.0+ and then GTX 970 ACX 2.0+, what is the lk because that one is also cheaper, thank you.

Don't buy the SC, get the Super SC (SSC). The reason is that the SSC and FTW have a better heatsink setup, if you plan on overclocking. For my money, I'd get the EVGA GTX 970 SSC 04G-P4-3975-KR. Please be aware that the 2975 model of the 970 SSC is just as good but has two DVI, one HDMI, and one display port. I prefer the 3975's three display port and one HDMI.

You didn't ask this but another option is the R9 390, if your power supply supports it. And yet another option here in the US is buying an EVGA b-stock (factory refurbished) card. I just checked and there aren't any GTX 970's in stock, but I'm guessing there will be in two weeks or less. No way to know for sure.
