How much benefit does faster RAM provide?

Intel i7-4790k
AMD R9 280 3GB (OC)
Asus Z97-E
Crucial MX100 265GB
Mushkin Silverline Advanced DDR3-1600 16GB (4x4) (9-9-9-24 XMP - 10-10-10-28 @ 1800 OC)

I was looking to upgrade my RAM to something faster. Was thinking some DDR3-2400 (16GB) RAM but I am wondering how much, if any performance benefit it would provide?

Generally the timings on 2400 RAM is 10-11-11-31. My current RAM is OC'ed to 1800 at 10-10-10-28.

I use this PC at 1080p to record/stream (Bandicam and OBS respectively), render video (Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13) and play a large variety of games from new AAA titles to old obscure indie games.

Basically I want to know if it is worth it to upgrade at all. Right now the PC runs great and does everything I need it to. The RAM upgrade is fairly cheap (around $100 USD). I am waiting for Pascal to switch out my GPU with something better.

Solution
In memory benchmarks it'll make about a 15%-25% difference. If you're doing specialized numerical processing tasks which won't fit in the CPU cache, then faster RAM might make a significant improvement.

Otherwise, in general-use tasks like games, it'll provide about a 1%-2% speedup. For DDR3 to DDR4, some tasks actually get slower due to the longer CL timings. Not worth the money.
