I recently upgraded PC with motherboard MSI B85M-G43 and i5 processor. I kept old case, power supply and disks. Now when my old non system HDD goes to sleep (turn's off) power supply start's making clicking sounds. I read on this forum that clicking noise is the PSU's voltage regulator repeatedly shutting off the power and turning it back on. I temporary fixed that with setting to prevent HDD from turning off. I don't really understand why turning off of HDD is making problem for power supply?
