My motherboard BIOS refuses to recognize my optical drive, hdd, and SSD. I have double checked to make sure that that SSD sata cable is connected to the 6gb/s slot on the motherboard and that the sata power connector and sata cable are secure on all three components. There could also be a problem with the sata power connector. Besides this, the psu and motherboard are working fine. I would also like to add that this is my first time building without prior experience in building computers. In addition I have the ASUS z170 pro gaming. Thank you

You have all the proper power connections to everything right? (motherboard, SSD, etc) Double check all your connections, both power and data, and make sure your PSU is powering. Are you getting the mobo's splash screen and then nothing?

SSD is in the 6gb/s slot on the motherboard, and the hdd and optical drives are on the next slots. The bios works fine and I can tell my PSU is working because the LEDs on my MOBO and fans and are lighting up. Im sure that I have the sata power connectors in all three of them and they don't have any signs of power(optical drive not lighting up, hdd not humming).

I doubt a picture would load up for me while at work, but try and take a picture of how things are connected and post them here. I might not be able to visibly double check but someone might be able to. It's always possible the sata ports are bad in which case, please do return/RMA the board.
