i5 3570k vs i7 3770

Hi guys, can choose between the two, not sure which is better. The thing that really confuses me is that the i7 non-k can still OC the multiplicator which nets a 4.3ghz and I've been told that the i5 also overclocks in the 4.2-4.4 ghz region, so what is the benefit there of the K version?
Ah and I'm running a P67 board.

The non K, have a limited overclock multiplyer, allows only X4.

I would go with the 3770. But check your board supports it first, will probably need a bios update before getting the CPU.

Wrong. Non K chips can't OC. You can up the bus a BIT, but the end result isn't good. If you are looking to OC you have to get the 3570K.

I just moved from the 3570K to the 3770K. With new games coming out needing 8 thread support in the recommended specs I felt it was time to support this. At the moment an OC'd 3570k will game better then the 3770. But as games move to needing more threads/cores this will change. I'm planning on keeping this system for awhile so I moved to a 3770K when I saw a good deal on one.

The 3770 will overclock to 4.3ghz on 1/2 cores, 4.2ghz on 3 and 4.1ghz on 4 cores.

That's boost. Slightly different. OC's wouldn't drop due to how many cores are in use.

You can overclock it without turbo if you like, all four cores @4.1ghz, that's the limit on the non k 3770

Sorry, you are wrong. Sandy and Ivybridge chips had "limited overclock" multiplyer, allowing them to be overclocked 4 bins.

No its not, its an actually multiplyer overclock beyond the normal turbo boost.

I don't think you are right about the 3770. I do have it and can, as noted before, up the multiplier to 43 also this can be done for a single core but also groupwise. Not sure if I'm right but both the ASUS AI Suite and CPUID HWMonitor report 4.3GHZ on all cores simultaneously. That's the reason I was asking what benefits the unlocked I5 would have as a friend of mine said the safe region is around 4.2-4.4 GHZ with the i5 so I was kinda confused since that's in the range of what I already seem to be getting with my non-K 3770. Sorry if my question was a bit unclear.
So basically I wanted to know whats the difference between those values?
NOTE: I'm aware with the i7 it's about boost clock but since it can be applied to all 4 cores simultaneously does it even matter comparing to a normal OC with the K version?

That HWmonitor reading is incorrect, it does that on mine says 4.3 on all cores but its not, 4.1 is max for all cores, 4.3 for 1/2 cores

Ah ye I see, well it actually reports correctly but only if all 8 threads are under full load, then I also get 4.1 on all cores.
Ok but this still leaves the question on how much better an i5 k at 4.3ghz will be? Would it really be worth it to loose all the i7 features for 0.3ghz at best?
