Hi
I have come into possession, 2 x Titan Blacks at a good price, and wondering if my PSU is powerful enough to handle them.

I am running one of them using 2 x 6-pin adapter to 1 x 8 pin. The other card I have not put in yet.

Here are my other systems specs and drives:
Asus Formula VI Motherboard
2 x 8GB Sticks Ram
2 x Optical Drives
3 x Sata Hard Drives
1 x Samsung SSD System Drive 250GB

This is my current power supply:

So, I guess I have 2 questions really.

1) Is my power supply good enough to run 2 of these cards safely without damaging any other components?
2) If so, how do I do the cabling?

I currently am using this to power one card.

But using this is taking up 3 of the available 4 PCI-Express cables.

To get over this problem, can I use 2 of these (one on each card)

I am unable to use the 2-molex to 8 pin PCI adapter as I have only 1 spare.

I have already bought this in readiness if my above plans do not work!

Thanks for any help in advance :)

Hell yes you should, if you can sell them on for £800-900 for the pair you would buy 2x 980ti's which are Far better than the titans, but if you cant get that price no real need to worry they are still powerful card and definatly work £500 for the pair lol.

your PSU is not powerful enough to run both of these cards you will need a 850W power supply at minimum but the question is why are you using Titan's ? you can get 2x 980ti's for the same price as 1 titan and 980ti's are better than the titan anyway.

Thanks for the answer Hawkshot :)
I was given 2 x Titans for £500 so could not refuse really!

Would I be better off selling the cards and getting something different then?

Thanks hawkshot. May be worth a try. I hate using eBay though. By the time you get your money 15% of it is gone!

The titans are definitely great cards though. Currently running the one on a 4k 28" acer with g-sync and it looks great on ultra settings!! But frame rate is dropping to under 20 in some situations. Although tomb raider 2013 is running super

he's talking about the titan black, which is an older card. so my assumption is the OP came across a deal for some used ones. you really can't get 2 980ti's for the price of a titan X either...not in the US at least. that EVGA supernova should be perfectly fine to run that system with 2 titan blacks.

as you used £ as your currency im going to guess you are living in the UK, if this is the Case use Gumtree rather than Ebay, people will pick it up from your house and its free for a normal listing and they don't take any money from you even if the add is successful.

Thanks Dangus. Yes hawkshot i did think about using Gumtree though it is a bit shady to be honest and pepole don't recommend using it. Lots of swindlers around on Gumtree unfortunately

yeah I know what you mean, ive used it plenty of times though, as long as you take cash on the door and don't accept paypal payments you will be fine.

Yeah definitely going to consider it. For now I think I will fit the power supply because I already have it. Then do so e testing with both cards in and see how it goes. If the minimum frame rates don't go over 30 then I will look at my options then. Thanks Hawkshot.
