Lower than expected performance on gtx 980 ti

I recently upgraded from a 780 to a 980 ti and got a gsync monitor. After the upgrade I have noticed performance problems in all games. The game play is not Smooth at all and I get frequent and seemingly random freezes and frame rate drops to 30fps or lower in some instances for about 1-2 seconds. Also it seems like my Fire strike score is quite a bit lower than others for this card. I am able to pull just barley over 10k and I see others with this card at around 16k. I have already reinstalled drivers and even reinstalled windows so I am thinking it's a hardware issue. I just dont know what part in my system is causing the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some games average fps @1440p:
Dirty bomb(high settings no aa): 75-90fps with frequent drops and stutters
Depth(maxed): 60-90fps with frequent drops and stutters.
Csgo(low settings): 75-100 with frequent drops and stutters.

I can't even seem to get over 100 fps in the menus of games!

Specs:
Gpu : 980 ti gigabyte windforce
Cpu: i7 4770k @ stock. Also tried at 4.0ghz
Cpu cooler: hyper 212 cooler master
Ram:2x 4gb 1600
Psu: corsair 750 bronze
Storage: 240gb pny ssd
Most games ran from wd black 1tb with the exception of csgo

I've been getting a bit of game stutter too recently on my 970. I think it might be the driver really. Try rolling back to the last driver. I'd say uninstall the driver again, but use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), a while ago I had frequent crashes after updating to Win 10, I reinstalled the driver many times, but after I ran this and reinstalled, it's been fine since. It removes all existing display drivers new and old.

Thanks for the info I have already done that as well but I will try it again. I will also try to use a previous driver. When I home I will try to reinstall the driver and also try the last couple of drivers and post my results.

Okay, So I used DDU and installed an older driver and my performance has increased. I am not seeing anywhere near as many stutters in dirty bomb as before. There are still a few here and there but not game breaking. My dirty bomb fps went up to about 105-130 fps. I havent had the chance to test other games yet but this is a huge improvement! Thanks for All the help! I do have another question though. I brought up gpu z to monitor the gpu and even with an unlocked frame rate the gpu load bounces around. In dirty bomb it goes anywhere in between 75-95%. shouldn't it be running under 99% load in order to get the most fps possible with an unlocked frame rate? I also tested this why The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. I set everything as high as it could go with resolution scale at 200% and was able to get around 35fps with the gpu under 99% load. when I put the resolution scale back down to 100@ I get a framer rate of around 85-95 fps and the gpu usage fluctuates between 80-95%. Is this normal? I thought that the gpu was supposed to give it all that it has when using an unlocked frame rate. Any extra help is appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

If it's still doing it after that, post a link to your firestrike webpage results and also double check everything, pcie speeds and check your cpu usage, temps , gpu usage and temps.

Open the sensors page in hw info 64 and gpuz and hit the sensors tab, minimize them and play a game for 5-10 min and then take a screenshot of the cpu section in hw info and the gpu info in gpuz with clock speeds, temps and usage for both and post them back here pls.

Sorry I was typing and didn't see you got it fixed ...nice. That's normal, our card is very strong so depending on resolutions under 4K it may not run a full 99% usage because it can't, especially on some older games or less graphically intensive...I would guess the cpu can't feed enough info to push it at lower resolutions.

Okay, Thanks for the info! So I have nothing to worry about then with the gpu usage that I am getting at 1440p?

And just for kicks, here is my new firestrike score: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9131898
Does everything seem fine here?

A lot better that 10k LOL:) Thanks for all the help guys! :)

Nah nothin to worry about and you're welcome. Yeah that looks about normal for stock 4770K or at 4.0 and the graphics score looks right for around 1150Mhz base clock speeds.
