CPU Fan speed 7856 - 56784 RPM ?(!)

Heyho,

So, after a good (few) years without much but the occasional dusting, I decided to do a thorough clean of my case. Removed dust, what not.

Afterwards, everything sounded exactly like it used to - there was a faint clicking sound from my CPU fan (Arctic Freezer Extreme Rev.2), but I recall having heard it before.
Retracing my steps to make sure I hadn't made a faulty move somewhere, I recallI only very gently brushing the very edges of the monster of a heatsink that it is, to try and get the worst out-coating of dust off (and did so succesfully, from what I can tell).

To check everything was in order, I decided to install HWmonitor to check temperatures, and that's when the odd bit of info popped up:
Apparently, according to HWMonitor, my CPU fan is running at 7856 RPM Min, 56784 RPM Max, jumping from 19640 to 56784 in value every few seconds - although I can't hear it speeding up nor down, and temperature of the CPU is 35 - 49 Celsius, and CPU socket is 37 - 40 Celsius.

So, is my computers adamency of it having a heavy-duty industrial fan installed on its CPU something I should be worried about?

For reference, I've had it for a good 3~ years now, and never paid attention to the CPU Fan speed before now.
I've also checked with both SpeedFan, HWMonitor, and my BIOS, and all say the same thing.

Edit: Ah, should mention that the motherboard is an ASUS Maximum IV Extreme ROG

Thought as much, but wanted to make sure - cheers for the answer! :)
On a side-but-somewhat-related-note, been thinking about upgrading my GPU (GTX 690), be that as it may, I also ran a test to check how it performed under stress, just to see.
Playing "The Park" at maximum settings, it spun up to 73% and leveled off at ~85°C - would that be considered acceptable temperature range for such a card in such a game?

Been thinking about upgrading it for Fallout 4, but unless it's on its last leg, I imagine it could run it fairly well - the last leg bit being the reason fro the above question.

I probably should've checked this more often, but cleaning/handling hardware always makes me paranoid, especially as there's such a long period of time in between, so I end up being paranoid if everything's about to fail because I cleaned/handled it, so just checking if everything's in order - my apologies for the compound questions. ;o

(and for the atrocious sentence structure - posting at 3 AM might not have been the best idea. Sorry again)

Cleaning/handling is ok as long as you ground yourself and use common sense. I cant really comment on fallout 4, since its not out yet. But the 690 is still a great card, but it does run very hot because its a dual gpu card.

Thank you for the follow-up answer, it's much appreciated! :)
Aye, made sure to do the touch-metal dance to avoid static, block fans from spinning out of control when using an airflow to clean out dust particles, and otherwise not touch any even remotely sensitive part of a piece of hardware with my fingers - preferably not at all if avoidable.
Still paranoid as all diddly that something's changed and I'll wake up tomorrow to a brick.

Then it leveling off at 85°C @ 73% fan speed isn't something to be overly concerned about? :)

No, the cooling solution on the 690 is just complete shit.

Hehe, glad to hear it. Cheers for all the help! :)
