Hi There,

I am facing some strange problem these days from my PC. My PC won't power up unless i remove my CMOS battery & re-insert it. I also changed the CMOS battery 2 days ago, checked everything in BIOS & it seems fine. Now i don't know what to do to resolve this problem.
My motherboard's Ethernet port along with my router was destroyed 2 months ago by lightning (i guess) but i didn't face any such problem till last week. I just want to know

Can That Lightning strike be the reason behind this strange behaviour of my PC?
I would like to know if anything i am missing that can resolve my problem?
Is it possible that some of my component is dying & that is the reason behind issue?

Any Suggestion will be highly appreciated,Thanks in advance

Specs are:
Core i5 2400
Intel DH61ww Motherboard
EVGA GTX 770 Superclocked ACX
Corsair GS600 PSU
6GB DDR3 ram

Well tried flashing bios using flash drive, also changed bios to system default but non of them worked. Problem still persist, seems motherboard is damaged.
Any suggestion on should i just buy new motherboard or replace CPU as well to skylake or haswell from sandybridge

I really appreciate your response but if i have to upgrade CPU then motherboard will be Haswell/Skylake cpu supported.
In Short, I just want to know whether mine I5 2400 will keep up with Assassin's Creed Syndicate or any upcoming GTA/Battlefield?:)

i use a phenom x4 9750 from 2006 and i can barely handle the latest titles at medium to low settings but thats just me. i think your better off upgrading to haswell or broadwell. skylake is a bit expensive and DDR4 memory is currently not worth the extra bucks. i think broadwell would be fine for you though

Thanks Everyone for reply, The post initially was for CMOS/Motherboard but thanks for helping in some different topic as well. If i have to upgrade now then me also will choose haswell or broadwell, Skylake is too expensive for me:)
