hi there.
time for an upgrade.

i'm planning on getting another 8 Gbs for my Computer System.

my question is, is 2x4Gbs and 1x8Gbs of CORSAIR'S vengeance RAM operating at 1600 BUS stable enough to work? hence 16Gbs?

the mainboard i have is an ASUS B85M-G, and is already fitted with 2 x 4 Gbs of 1600 Mhz RAM Vengeance on an overclock. Regular speeds are 1333 Mhz.

is it okay to get another 8 Gbs..... but only one stick of it? AND operate at 1600 Mhz?

Solution
RAM should be added in pairs, and installed and purchased as a kit. This is the only way to ensure that the sticks of RAM will all be compatible and work together on the motherboard.

While adding RAM one stick at a time might work out for some users, in other cases it will be not, and will cost more in the long run.

If you want 16 GB of RAM, then buy a 2 x 8 GB of RAM kit. The kit part is making sure that the RAM sticks are compatible with each other from the factory.
