Hi Vishal_12,

It may be a hardware issue. Update drivers, check Event Logs and see anything that looks promising.
If it displays it again, let me know what it says, even if they are different!

Hi Viashl_12,

That code is "KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M"

"Bug check 0x1000008E has the same meaning and parameters as bug check 0x8E (KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)."

This blue screen can have several causes (from most likely to least likely):

Faulty RAM
Faulty hardware
A problem with a device driver
A virus
To help narrow down the cause, follow these steps:

Carry out some memory diagnostics using Memtest.

If any tests fail, replace the RAM and see if the blue screens persist.

Check to see if your RAM is properly seated in the motherboard.

This one seems obvious but I felt I should put it here for completeness. Whilst unlikely, it can be the cause of this error but unless you've opened the case recently or transported the PC anywhere, it's not likely to be the problem.

Have you changed the BIOS settings for your RAM?

If you've overclocked your RAM or misconfigured the RAM settings, this is also a potential cause. You can try restoring the default BIOS settings.

Disable RAM caching/shadowing settings in the BIOS

Somewhat related to the last point, but you can try disabling these and see if it alleviates the problem.

Have you recently installed new device drivers prior to receiving the blue screen?

If so, uninstall the driver(s) and if possible, go back to older version(s). Try the machine out and see if the blue screens persist.

Carry out a virus scan.

This isn't likely to be the problem, but in very rare cases a virus can result in this blue screen.

Other things to try would be swapping out the graphics card, making sure your hardware is all compatible with the OS and also perhaps updating the BIOS.

Hi Vishal_12,

What device is that? It could possibly mean that it can't start the device or there's an incorrect device driver installed.
If you double-click on it, it will inform you of what the warning/error is.

Let me know.

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Drive

This is waht it says when i double click it!

So that means there's no driver for that device. Google the device driver and try and download it.
Did you go through the list I posted? Have you narrowed it down to Hardware or what?

Hey, i did the memory test and there are no errors.
Anyways, i might have found the cause of this error.
Basically, since i was tired trying to find solutions for the bsod in win 7. I went, borrowed a cd for win xp from my friend and installed it, and now my pc runs win xp without any problems. But then when i downloaded the latest driver for my intel 965 express chipset family for win xp and installed it, i started getting bsod.

So, is the display driver the fault.
But i do have one thing in my mind, when i had win 7, the chipset was running on default driver provided by win 7.
And not the intel one. I did find a page in the intel website, where there was a latest driver for my chipset espicially for win 7 and not anyother OS. So maybe, downloading and installing that driver might do the trick?
