Popping/crackling sounds coming from the PC

It started after i installed a CPU cooler (212 Evo) and OCed my FX-6300 to 4.4Ghz.

I suspect that the motherboard's plastic is expanding and contracting slightly from the differences in temperature though my CPU temps never go above 51C when gaming.

Is this normal or should i be worried? If so, how would i fix this?

If this is the wrong section to post in i apologize.

How can i find the source though?

To be more clear i hear it a little when the PCs running but mostly after it's been turned off and begins to cool down. Which is why i assume it's plastic expanding and then being constricted again

If you know when it tends to make that noise, then pop the side of your case off and get close to listen. Heck I would lay it on it's side with the case open so you can look, listen and feel (CPR, fun stuff!). When you hear it starting, try to see if it's coming from the PSU or something else. The biggest fear is that it will be your PSU and if it continues to snap crackle and pop, it does so until something goes horribly wrong and it pumps too much power to the board and destroys something. A PSU is probably 40-100$, while a new motherboard and CPU AND PSU is easily 2-3x that.
