Cooler for FX 6300 - Scythe Shuriken or Corsair H60 for small case

Hi guys,

I was looking for advice on the best CPU cooler to use in my micro ATX case. I've got an FX 6300 on an ASRock 970m Pro3 mobo, currently using the stock cooler. It's in an Antec P50 Cube Case.

I do not plan to overclock, so I don't need anything particularly impressive, I just want something that offers somewhat better and quieter cooling than the stock cooler.

My issue is that I will shortly be populating all four ram slots and as near as I can tell that gives me about a centimetre of extra width available, and the case itself limits the height to 130mm.

All the coolers with narrow base profiles are too tall, and the ones that are low profile are too wide. Or the dimensions are fine, but the coolers aren't rated for the 95w tdp of the FX 6300.

I've narrowed it down to two possibilities:

The Scythe Shuriken Rev b which would be an easy install without having to remove the motherboard (theoretically the case has a cutout, but it's blocked by both the power supply and an - I think - unremovable hard drive bay). My concern is that it's about 20mm wider than the stock cooler meaning I'd be right up against blocking off the a RAM slot. I have seen people online mention that this cooler blocks off a RAM slot so I wouldn't want to assume I'd be okay. It's also the cheaper option (though neither is out of my price range).

OR

The Corsair H60 which would also be an easy install in terms of there being no motherboard removal, certainly wouldn't block off the RAM and would probably offer better cooling.

The concern I have here, though, is that the case is a dual compartment case. There are 120mm fan mounts at the top and clearance for radiators there by design. However, the radiator+fan will leave about 2cm clearance between it and the top of the internal case divider. The two pipes coming from the radiator will want to fall naturally one on each side of that divider. I'd need to bend one of the pipes through that space and while I'm sure it'd physically fit, I'm not sure if it would adversely affect operation of the cooler, or risk failing or leakage? I'm not sure if the cooler would support rotating it 90 degrees so that both pipes fell "forwards" and into the correct chamber and I've not been able to find much information about the orientation of the radiator in a top-mounted position online.

(I could also remove the front fans and put the cooler at the front of the case, then put those fans at the top. However, I would prefer not to do so for airflow reasons).

Of those options (or any option I haven't been able to find!) which would you guys recommend?

Thanks - that does look like a nice option - designed to hang over low profile RAM. Unfortunately, I'd have to rebuy the RAM I'm using if it hangs over my first two slots as I don't have low profile RAM right now. If I factor that cost in, it starts to be a little steep. But I appreciate you pointing out the option to me - I'll add it to the list of possibles.
