I've been told my parts are fine but each week they get hotter as the ambient temp goes down. My CPU idles at 44c, my board at 52, and my gpu (980ti) does whatever it damn well pleases. The fans don't go on until 60c, so basically I have a space heater in my dorm room. I called Asrock about my mini itx x99 board and they said it is ok to have hot motherboard temps. Never heard of anyone at that while idling....

Do you have any case airflow? And the 980 ti is designed not to engage its fans until a certain temp 60c i believe, for silence sake. You can change this by making a custom fan profile in a program like msi afterburner if you want.

I did that and now the entire system is cooler. The GPU heated up enough so that the motherboard temp was affected by it (as well as the CPU temp for obvious reasons). Now, the entire system is running at an appropriate temp.
