Better Internet Speed

I have just moved into a new house and setting up the internet. In the old house I had the phone line box (white box on the wall) in my bedroom and had everything set up in my room so I had the fastest speeds but in the new house the white box is downstairs in the very front room, my new room is upstairs right at the back of the house, how will I get fast internet speeds if the modem is downstairs in the front of the house? I also have a bunch of xbox's to set up, I use a Desktop PC so I cant use wireless I also need the fastest speeds because I am a livestreamer and youtuber.

I am currently with BT and have BT Infinity 2, I was thinking of buying another modem for in my room and connect the 2 via ethernet cable that way I only have 1 cable running through the house instead of like 6 but will this solve my issue or will I still have slow speeds ? I have also heard that it is pretty tricky to set the 2 up on the same network, I am not very good with things like this. Help, please.

Thanks,
Ben.

If you run an ethernet from the main router to your room, then what you need in your room is a switch not a modem or router. A switch will let you connect multiple ethernet cables together and the single link back to the router will handle the internet for all of them. That will provide the fastest internet speeds possible.

Basically what Kane said is correct. The next best alternative I can think of if you don't want to run a wire through the house is a powerline adapter. You would still need a switch to connect all your devices and you would get slightly slower speeds than what Kane said but I put this option out there in case you don't want a wire running the length of your house.

Okay thank you, the deal I currently get is 70down & 20up would I receive those speeds in my room through the switch or would it be noticeably lower? Also do you have any recommendations for switches? Thank you again.
