hey guys, what's up? I realy like i5 but with the less money i can buy a much better processor from amd, like the fx 8350. what should i do? my budget is @ 150 euros (portugal)

Solution
Correct at this time Intel cpu is a bit faster at gaming but lets not forget that AMD is still a viable platform to many even Toms hardware here mentions the 860 6300 aND 8320 as recommended cpus so if your wanting to save money go amd if you got money to spend then go to intel I5.

this is why I asked OP what he plans on using the computer for, as if he dose other things such as rendering or streams as well as games I would say that he should go for the FX-8350 but I know from past experience that this CPU isn't capable of running single core processing powered games anywhere near as well as an i5 would.

Yes, Intel will pull ahead in gaming, but AMD is cheaper and better for threaded tasks such as rendering. However another nice thing is that you can use the extra to upgrade the GPU which is usually much more of a bottleneck. It's also much easier to overclock FX series chips if you are into that.

The performance gap between an i5 and FX 8xxx is very small, with the i5 being just a bit more expensive. It will depend on the types of games you play and how well they are optimized for multi-core CPUs.

Also, a good balance between CPU and GPU is important. It would be better to pair an FX 6300 with a GTX 960 instead of an i5 with a 750ti.

Here's a good article on CPUs:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-cpus,3986.html

And here's a good vid showing an FX 6300/6350 with GTX 970 running great paired with a GTX 970:

As you said it totally depends on what game you're playing, if your are like me and play a lot of MOBA games then it makes a huge difference, I went from a FX-8350 OC 4.5GHz to an I5-6600k went from around 80fps all the way upto 420fps and i'm not joking obv I don't need anymore than 144FPS but its nice to see 400+ frames on my favourite games

Thank you all. I simply can't understand how a fx-8xxx with 8core and 8 threads is inferior than a i5 xxxx with only 4 core and 4 threads... i don't need full specs at all games. I want my computer to be fast at every moment, no matter what is open and running. example, music, browser with multi abs openned, downloading, word file open, power point file open, transfering something to the external harddrive everything at the same time. my idea was, fx cpu + 750 ti gpu or similar, i don't realy need an gtx 960 altough is a much better gpu.

Asus GTX750TI-OC-2GD5
SSD Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB
Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3-1600MHz 8GB
Corsair Builder CX430W (430Watts will be enough?) or Nox NX 650W 140mm

these are the main parts i chose. (www.pcdiga.com)

what do you think?

i would choose a better powersupply - if you are into amd this is a must....
also i would change that motherboard to atleast a 970 or 990 chipset because that mobo are for dual and quad core only....
you dont want your fx to power choke....

simple answer. is that the FX-8350 has more core's but a far slower single core clock speed (this is what most games run off of) also there is no game out at the moment that uses more than 4 cores so anything more than this at the moment is useless for gaming itself, in the future they will more than likely use more than 4 but at the moment they don't :)

I got a FX8350 myself so I'll just talk about my experience:

You can play every game, yes. However, in CPU demanding games like MMORPG's, you'll fall behind to Intel CPU's. Sometimes big, sometimes small differences, depends on game and Intel CPU.

However, for less CPU demanding games like BF4, Assassins Creed (prior to Unity) etc, fx8350 is just fine.
Though, I suggest taking a newer generation than 8350, its been out a bit too long to still buy it honestly.

Newer games demand more and also Assassins Creed (Unity +) requirements go above the FX8350 offerings.
I suggest going FX9590, price difference aint much but its also a bit better looking at becnhmarks.

Cheers
