New to PC gaming and need feedback on my first build. Budget is around $450-$550. I would use it for gaming and also schoolwork, etc. I don't plan on recording/streaming gameplay. The lower budget is because I still have to buy all of the perephrials (monitor, keyboard/mouse, cables, etc). I hope to play games on 1080p on medium-high settings.

Part list
CPU: Intel core i5 6400
GPU: 7870 LE XT MYST edition (older GPU)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance (2×4 gb) DDR3 240 pin
Motherboard: ASRock B150 PRO4/D3
Power supply: Corsair CX 600w
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1tb
Case: DIYPC Solo T1-R (comes with 2 fans)

I have plenty of time to make changes to the build, I don't plan on buying these parts until late December. Any feedback is welcome.
Thanks!!

Firstly, with that Skylake CPU you'll want DDR4 RAM, not DDR3:

Also, the CX series of PSUs from Corsair are very bad quality, and are known to fry PCs and could possibly catch fire. Corsair is generally a good brand, and their other series of PSUs are really good, but they sucker people in with their 'budget' PSUs. Go for this PSU from XFX. It's a tier 2-1 PSU and is really good quality:

Apart from those, your build looks pretty good.

Quite a few B class motherboards are in fact DDR3, this one indicated by the D3 designation. Skylake CPUs support both, though the DDR3 must be lower voltage.

A better options would be to replace both the motherboard and the ram so that a DDR4 system can be built.

Agree on the power supply.

Why such an old GPU, did you get it from a friend? Not a terrible graphics card, but if you are paying anywhere near retail for it you can do much better.
