Any major differences in power consumption between the GTX 950 and 960?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to ask whether the increase in power demand from a gtx 960 compared to a 950 is substantial? In terms of a tdp of 90w rising to 120w, would it just be a waste getting a 960? I plan to do heavy video editing (I have an i7 and 16gb ram for that) and the most demanding game I'll be playing is GTA 5 (don't mind playing 1080p medium settings). I just want to get the best value in terms of power consumption.

What in terms of how it will affect your power bill each month? Negligible the difference of a few cents maybe. In terms of power supply required? Any decent 450watt power supply would be plenty for either.

It'll be a Corsair 450v VS series supply. No I'm not overly worried about the bill- I'm thinking more about the actual wattage and power. I really value energy efficiency, and running my graphics card to its full potential. I won't be playing AAA titles except maybe gta 5 on medium/high settings.

Well the the only time the 960 is going to use more watts than the 950 is when it is under heavy load like it would be in a game like gta v, but less demanding games and just idling at the desktop I would expect the 960 and 950 to use an equal amount of power.
