ASUS power surge detect on Corsair PSU

So I've been running my selfmade PC for about two years now and so far everything has been alright. But for two days now there have been a few events at which it immediately powers off without warning. the next time it starts a typical message. I said myself that maybe it was just a coincidence. But it happened again. and again. and again. five times until now. It seems to happen with no pattern, so I'm kind of worried because I have no idea what it might come from. The PSU itself is kind of ok, quality-wise. It's a Corsair GS700. I have checked the BIOS but I'm afraid of simply turning the surge protect off. I also checked my HWmonitor readings of the voltage; 3V,5v and 12v are ok. Vcore is at 1.792 and also VIN4 is wildly fluctuating between very low (0.016v) and higher voltages (0.800v).
Do you have any advice? Is the surge detect wrong or should I get a new PSU?

I just looked again in the BIOS, probably that which was listed as vCore in the HWmonitor is just the input voltage for the cores. The actual voltage in the processor cores is less, smth like 0.8V but can vary as well.
I guess that's why they say you shouldn't trust those voltages from HWmonitor. Sadly my BIOS doesn't say much. 3v,5v and 12v stable, Voltages for cores as well. Not much more shown though.

I can definitely see now that either it's something with the BIOS or with the PSU, nothing from the outside.

The Mobo is an ASUS Z87-Pro and the Processor an i7-4770K. Base Freq of course.

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead, but the problems continued.
There has been a short period in which there were no shotdowns, but they came back. I reset the BIOS to standard values, which should have made it work. However, the BIOS still reports either that a power surge has happened or that the system was shutdown just before such a surge happened.
Voltages still seem stable in BIOS as well as HWmonitor. Vcore still reported as 1.792V.

Is there any way I could test out whether the Power supply is defect without sending it to Corsair?
Any help is appreciated.
