So i asked why i can't run Guild Wars 2 that well, and i got responses that it was my graphics card. So i have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 645, and i need something better, i was recommended the GTX 960 and 970, i'm probably gonna go with one of those, but i was wondering if anyone had some suggestions or experiences? I don't wanna spend too much money, so around the 200-300 euro/dollar range would be nice.

The GTX960, R9 280, R9 285 and R9 380 are good for 1080p and the GTX970 and R9 390 are great for 1080p. The 280x and 290 fall somewhere in between and are very good at 1080p.

960 = 280 = 285 < 380 < 280x < 290 < 970 = 390

GTX 960, 970, 980, 980 ti, etc are very good graphics cards although they can get pricey.

The GTX 960 is a very good gpu, I indeed have one and plays games very well.
But since you have a GTX 645 I'm guessing you have a branded computer such as a Dell or HP?

I apologize if I'm wrong.

The GTX 750ti is the minimum if you don't want to upgrade in a long time although it is starting to become outdated very quickly now due to all the new games out there. You will have to crank some settings down if its a high end game.

If it is a branded pc you may not be able to fit a GTX 960 or 970 due to its lack of space.

Hope this helps :)

As Cazaux says the GTX 645 is an OEM graphics card usually fitted to HP / DELL / etc machines. If this is what you have then you will need to look at the capacity of your case to fit a graphics card in and how powerful your power supply is. It is very unlikely you will be able to run anything as powerful as a GTX 960 or above in your machine.

The 750Ti is a good shout, especially if you sniff one out that does not require a 6 Pin power supply and will run purely off your motherboard PCIe power. This will almost definitely work in any machine.

Yeah, i have an acer that was bought straight from the store. Is there any way i can know if the graphics card fits? And also does it matter if i pick the 4gb or 2gb one? I don't play brand new games that much really, the farthest i've gone is GTA V.

Hello,

Your best option considering its an Acer is to go for the GTX 750 ti, it is compact and fits in almost every case.
It doesnt matter if you pick a 2gb or 4gb gpu, it just improves your gaming experience.

Does your case look like this?

Here are pictures on both the inside and outside of my computer. Will the 750ti be enough though? The last thing i want to do is buy a card and then it not being powerful enough. But on the other hand as you said, i might not have a choice if my case isn't big enough, or i might not even need a stronger card xD

You will be unable to fit the GTX 960 :( the 750ti is the only one that is powerful enough.

Yes the GTX 750ti is playable and will play high end games, the gpu that is usually required is a GTX 660 as of right now. Worse comes to worse you just have to change the textures of the game to Normal instead of High but trust me it is a very popular gpu and is used in many customized branded pcs.

Please do keep in mind replacing the gpu or infact opening the pc will void you warranty.

I have a MSI GTX 960 Twin Frozr and held it next to my old HP pc (since I replaced it to a custom) the gpu was almost equivilant to the whole entire length of the case!

Another thing to mention is if you get a GTX 960 you will need a psu upgrade 500W and over.
750 ti you don't have to replace the psu unless it is less than 300W.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the help, you helped me a lot ! :D I'm gonna go with the 750 ti, it's cheaper anyway so it's much nicer :D Are there any sites you can recommend to buy it from? I heard people say Newegg. I'm from Finland and the shipping prices were reasonable as well.

Newegg is the best option to purchase the gpu from, they have good support and if there is any issues apparently you can ship it back to them for a replacement or refund.

Have a good day :)
