Hi guys, I have a problem. I bought an Asus GTX 970 strix. As you know, this card needs a single 8 pin connector. The problem is: during the gaming sessions, I notice a disorder of the video, I see some "lines" that are probably caused by power supply (they are not screen tearing). I am pretty sure that this is the reason of the problem, since I had the same problem 1 year ago and I had to change my PSU. Now I have a 750W bronze PSU, it should be enough for a gtx 970, since before this video card I had a r9 280X, which requires more Watt than a 970. I am ignorant, but I think I have a solution: There are two "6+2 pin connectors" connected to my PSU, and I only use one of them (970 requires only 8 pins), I thought that the unused "6+2 connector" steals some power supply, and the other one doesn't have enough energy. My PSU is Corsair CX750M bronze. What do you think?

Which brand PSU is it as I'm sure there are others here who will tell you which PSUs are great and which are too cheap to bother with. I have a 750w G2 from EVGA with no issues, and my EVGA 970 has 12 pins on it. As far as the connectors "stealing"power, I don't think that's a thing. If you have another cable you could try replacing out, start with that first. Going back to the issue though, could you further describe what you mean by "disorder of the video?" Are the line always on there or only in games? All games or just a few and are they there from the start it the lines eventually appear?

If there is no "electrical resistence" (i dont know how is it exactly in english :p)
In that part of the system the eletricity simply "wont go there"
So it cant steal your electricity this is pysics stuff :D

Im almost sure the lines are not caused by your power supply ;)
Maybe try a different monitor or a different cable?

Right. I'm leaning more towards either a graphic setting, bad driver, or the card itself. For the drivers, uninstall the current drivers and grab the latest from nvidia. Try that and see if there's any improvement.

Thank you for the answer. my PSU is corsair CX750 bronze 80+. Those lines are present in every single game, especially in dark scenes or when there is smoke or fog in the game. with those lines the image quality becomes instable. I'm uploading a video on youtube, I'll give you the link
