Hey everybody

i have an old system that i'm trying to udate a bit

System:
intel 2 Quad E9400 2.66Ghz
ASUS P5G41T-M LX2/gb
2x2 kingston pc3-10700
650w energon psu
Ati Radeon HD 5830 1gb ddr5

I have tried upgrading the ram with a 2x4 g.skil Aegis ram set (F3-1333C9D-8GIS)

But the pc will not boot with the ram inserted, i read on another thread that the motherboad and ram might be incompatible, can that be true?

according to CPU-Z my cpu is running an FSB at 1330 and the motherboard should support 2x4 gb 1333mhz with the correct cpu....?

can anybody give me a hand with this problem?

P.S:
I have already tried starting with one module, different sockets, updating the bios to 0504 (newest)..

Just tried the following

both rams in,
one old in socket 1 one new in socket 2
first new ram in socket 1 and then socket 2
second new ram in socket 1 and then socket 2

nothing... the bios screen does not show, my screen (samsung syncmaster p2450) just cycles between the different options (vga, dvi, hdmi...) the screen is connected cia HDMI

update:
I tried bios reset and tried setting a static dram (my options was 800,1066 and 1333 sooo it seems like i should be able to run the Aegis ram)
i set the dram at 1066mhz and tried with the ripjaws ram
i set the dram at 1333mhz and tried the aegis ram
nothing worked

I don't have the possibility to test in another motherboard :(

thank for all your help, i will return my ram with a small loss (freight costs) and start saving for a new motherboard/cpu/ram system :(

I have googled the issue alot, and the problem keeps coming up with this kind of motherboard, i am not alone in my upgrade problems, another user, has had the exact same issue with the same ripjaw rams....it seems like the g.skill ram and this motherboard is just not compatible :S
