Ignorance is bliss...and I was really ignorant (stupid) many moons ago by adding 'REM' into one of the startup files, and I always get that error message when I start up the laptop. Now I've decided to fix it ! But I've long since forgotten which file I added that 'REM' to ! Uninstalling/re-installing the Control Centre won't cure this.
So where do I look ?

OS is Vista Home Premium (yes I know...its a croc...but it works and runs in basic mode. If I 'upgrade' to Win7 etc
I do not have discs etc for some of the programs I have......so I leave well alone, ok)

Looked at those thru DOS window...... config.sys config.nt autoexec.bat autoexec.nt win.ini win.nt nothing.

As stated, that message about Catalyst Control Centre comes up on startup after I get the Windows screen and
all the background programs/apps start loading.
It's got me to wondering if I might possibly have done it in/via Regedit, but I am (at 63yrs old) a bit weary of doing
anything in Regedit as it has been rather a long time since I 'dabbled' in that. I don't want to screw up and crash
the machine. If it is a possibilty...where/what would I look at in Regedit...and what would I do ?

Thanks for your time and help, it is appreciated.

Has anyone got any other idea's...please ?
As stated, looking thru the 'DOS' command prompt window at config.sys config.nt autoexec.bat autoexec.nt
win.ini win.nt all show nothing. And yes..I do remeber I added REM somewhere ! It is just where I added it
many many moons ago that I've forgotten (Dohhhh).
