Please read through my problem fully and then post solutions (if any). Thanks in advance.
I have searched many forums for an answer to this but all I have got are contradicting answers.

With Windows 10 coming as a free upgrade for Windows7 I decided to try it out. I put my W10 to download and install. During installation, due to a loose contact, the power supply was affected midway during installation.

Upon rebooting, I found the W7 boot up lights swirling around each other, as usual. But to my horror, the lights stopped swirling after half-a-swirl and a blue screen just appeared for a milli-second or so. the computer then completely rebooted, and I got the option of "Startup Repair" or "Boot windows normally" which usually appears when the power supply is cut and the computer shuts down abruptly. I booted windows normally and again the booting stopped at that place, and again the blue screen came for a milli-second or so.... The result was the same, how many ever times I tried.

After recording a video and stopping at the blue screen frame, I could read the text.. It said... "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you are seeing this stop error screen restart your computer. if this screen appears again, follow these steps :

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive is properly configures and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption. and then restart your computer

Technical Information:
*** STOP; 0x0000007B (oxFFFFF880009A97E8, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0x00000000000000000) "

According to this I am supposed to enter CHKDSK /F somewhere but after this screen my mouse and keyboard become non-functional. I happened to have an old mouse with the PS/2 connector and connected that and only that mouse works, not the one which is connected to the USB.

I also ran the "Startup Repair", which said that the problem could not be solved by the Repair program.

I tried the "Advanced Recovery Method" and used the "System Restore" to try to restore to an earlier point in time, before the W10 installation began. Still no luck.

And since I haven't created a system image before. I cannot use that option either.

SO, AFTER ALL THIS...

I decided to "Repair my computer" using that very option from the W7 installation disk. The problem now I am facing is that, I cannot boot the setup of W7 from the disk, even after changing the boot order and boot override to my CD Drive from the BIOS.

I tried to see if it was the CD Drive problem, using my Ubuntu 14.04 Installation disk. But, the Ubuntu loaded properly with no problems, and I even used the option "Try from CD" and it works fine. I even checked my HDDs from the Ubuntu to make sure the HDDs aren't fried or so.

So, technically I realised I am not able to boot only the W7 installation disk.

NOW, AFTER ALL THIS...
I ask any of you to help me out with this problem. I plan on formatting the HDD on which my W7 was installed (using Ubuntu) and reinstalling it again. If I do so, will I face the same problem of the installation disk not being recognised? And also, my W7 being an OEM version, will I be able to use the same code once again? (FYI, I used the phone verification the first time, as my internet was down then.) So will I be able to do it again? I haven't changed any system specifications.

I have read that the W7 OEM will lock to the computer specifications and hence will not let another computer run it. So, theoretically, since I haven't changed anything I guess it should work. Please let me know how to proceed and what I can do to get my computer working back again. Also any other suggestion apart from trying to reinstall the W7 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time and patience in reading this, I know this has been a very long message. I just wanted to give a detailed description, so you guys can find the right solution for me.... :)
Thanks in advance for you time in helping me out.

Solution
So you have nothing to lose. Make sure the drive is good and perform a fresh install. Use the Windows key on the sticker on your computer sometime after the install is complete. Windows will remind you.
Have fun.

You should be able to activate your windows again with the OEM key if you are using the same system hardware it was sold with. As far as reading the CD goes I can't really tell. Can you try the disc in another machine to see if it can recognize it at start up? If it can't your disk is busted. Do you get any sort of message when you try and boot from disc? Do you get as far as press any key to boot from disc?

My hardware has not changed even one bit. But If I am to reinstall W7 I will be deleting ALL its files rom C: and D: drive via the Ubuntu. So that will not pose a problem right? Or should I just format my HDD? I will Try putting it in another computer and check. And I don't get any message when I boot from the disk. Only thing is that a white underscore like cursor (like the one in command prompt) blinks for a longer time at the top right hand corner than usual (I used to see that during every normal boot also) and then goes to the "Startup repair" Or "Start Windows Normally Page.

The drive can be changed to GPT, (general partition table), from MBR, (master boot record), partition type in "disc management" from the admin acct. only, not a user acct. Yes, format the drive before converting it to GPT and use NTSF file system, not Fat 32 etc. Ya might have to futz around with it a bit. Have fun:).

Also ya can get into disc management as an admin from Crystal Disc Info, in a user acct. Search and install, a safe piece of software. Use the "function" tick in a user acct. This is what we use and have converted many discs this way:).

One thing at a time. Computers can multi task but people can't. We only have a single core brain. Heh, heh but true.
