i just got my msi gtx 980. i have two 6 pin connectors left over from my old gtx 680.
i used the 6 to 8 pin adapter that came with my 980, but apparently that isn't enough... the card requires 165 w. however i guess my 150w from the connector and 75 additional from the pci-e 3.0 port isn't enough? how does this work. (the other 6 pin leftover cable is laying idle for the moment btw)
i have also been freaking out about my card not working or being detected inside my pc. i hope that is because it needs more power, i took the fans spinning and light from the logo as a sign that it should have enough power. but after some reserch i found out i might be retarded
