3930k vs 3770k for gaming?

I have an offer to get a 3930k with a motherboard and a watercooler for 250 dollars or a 3770k with a motherboard for 210 dollars with a motherboard but only air cooled. Which one would be best for playing games like Far Cry 4, GTA V, Wolfenstein and Witcher 2/3

Well, the 3770k has better instructions per cycle, but has a thermal paste applied heat spreader, so isn't quite as good at overclocking.

3930k has more cores, more cache, a soldered heat spreader. Not sure I would want an old or used water cooler, likely out of warranty. Air coolers are easy to deal with. Though the cost difference is certainly reflected in the two prices.

Are you planning on overclocking either? Doing any video streaming (like Twitch) or video encoding?

3930k = 6 core Sandy Bridge-E + quad channel DDR3 (130W)
3770k = 4 core Ivy Bridge + dual channel DDR3 (77W)

the watercooler for the 3930k is brand new and i have multiple screens and like to watch movies while i play i dont really always multitask but i wold like a processor that can play well with my 2 660 ti's. and i would most likely want to overclock to like 4ghz with the 3930k seeing that it has watercooling

Both CPUs can handle a pair of 660Ti with ease. Presumably the 3770k chip is in a Z77 board that supports SLI? If the water cooler is brand new, that is a heck of a deal. Even the cheapest are about $60. Not sure there are any X79 boards that don't support SLI, I would have to check.

they both have 3 pci 3 ports and yes the 3770k has a Z77 and the 3930k has a X79 but what excites me about ithe X79 bord is the 8 memory slots
