Okay so I built my computer over a year ago and it gets the job done but I just want it to be faster, be able to run more monitors, and have a higher fps on games. My current build is:

CPU: AMD fx-8350 at 4.4Ghz
Mobo: Asus Sabertooth 990-fx
Cooler: Corsair H100i
GPU: Gigabyte R9 280 OC Windforce
PSU: Evga Supernova 850W G2
Ram: 8 GB G Skill Ripjaws
Monitor: 24" Asus 1920 x 1080 (not sure on resolution)

I would my computer to be able to run 4 monitors (currently at 2) and I would like it to be a bit faster and be able to run games at very high settings. I'm not sure what to upgrade really to get the results I want. I know the GPU but is there anything else? I have been looking at a GTX 970 but I am sorta stuck between that and the R9 390. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Also I have been looking into just upgrading my whole computer basically. Such as a new CPU, Mobo, and GPU. But I'm not sure if its worth spending that much just make my computer a bit faster. My thoughts if i did upgrade my computer:

CPU: Inter i7 4790k or i7 6700k
Mobo: MSI Z97-G45
GPU: GTX 970 or 980 or R9 390 or 390x

I would really appreciate some opinions and criticism and suggestions are encouraged. Thank you in advance!!!

Your cheapest option is to just upgrade your GPU....there isn't much difference between the 970 and 390. This will give you 4 monitors and better fps. The obvious weakness in your current build (beside your GPU) is your CPU. If games used all 8 cores then it would be fine, however as most games still only use a couple of cores, and the latest only 4 cores, your CPU is much weaker than the Intel in single core/thread processes.

If you are serious about getting the best performance possible and not too worried about the cost, then get the i7 and get yourself a GTX 980Ti.
