So, all of a sudden my pc wouldnt turn on again. we brought it to geek squad and paid for them to inspect it and stuff. then they said it was the mobo and sent pc back. i ordered new mobo and case (better cooling) and just now i noticed on the power supply cord that connects to mobo, 2 little pin things seem a bit broken. one looks like the shell to the metal broke about halfway, and the other looks burned about halfway, i then end up noticing the cord has a tiny black mark where the cord connects to the pins. it looks like a burn. so.. is my motherboard the actual problem? or is it the powersupply? when my pc broke i think i remember the cpu fan still turned on when i started it up, there was just nothing on the screen.

(edit): also my case should be arriving any time now. so should i just put everything together and hope for the best?

Without testing the parts individually it's hard to tell. But it sounds like something caused a short and it's entirely possible that both the power supply and the motherboard have been fried in the process.

Personally I would replace the power supply as well since it's burnt. The last thing you want is for the power supply to kill your new motherboard as well.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your reply

so im trying to test the power supply with the green and black wire. do you know if the little piece of metal in a twist tie will work?
