I built my computer three months ago and it worked fine. Recently its been getting stuck in the motherboard logo screen while booting up. Normally it would work after a few tries but then it would just get stuck. I thought i had isolated the problem to one stick of ram and removed it. It worked fine until the next day when it got stuck on the same screen again. I don't know if its a problem with my ram or motherboard pls help.

I had the same problem on a system I built after about 2 years, it turned out the Windows had gotten corrupted. I had enough space to leave the Windows there and do a new install. In that way if it was some bad sectors on the hdd I wouldn't have to worry about reusing them since I didn't want to format the drive. No problem with that unit since.

Yes, the unit I worked on would boot up and freeze at the splash screen where you would normally hit Del to go into the BIOS. I couldn't go into the BIOS it just froze there. I pulled the RAM, and ran mem tests on them, I pulled the drive out and ran chkdsk, virus scans malware scans. I change power cable arrangement, I change the Hard drive cables, I changed the Power supply the RAM, and after each attempt it would work okay for a day then freeze at the same place again at the motherboard splash screen. I was ready to go out and sacrifice a virgin at the next full moon when I finally tried to reinstalled Windows and the issue stopped.

Now I'm not saying that is what he'll have to do it just sounds like the exact same thing I went thru.
