Would it be better for the PC's performance? Would it be safe to do so? I can do it in the motherboard's BIOS.
Installed WinXP on SATA in IDE Mode, then upgraded to Win7. Switch to AHCI mode?

It's safe and better, but if using an HDD, no noticeable improvement.
