I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77x-UD3H motherboard and am looking to upgrade to a (2x8gb) 16gb ram kit, however I am looking at the qualified vendors on Gigabytes website and none seem to be compatible. I am looking for something like this http://, since this isnt in the QVL can it still be compatible?

Solution
Correct, the motherboard maker simply isn't going to test every RAM module released. This memory in particular will run fine in dual channel mode if you populate the appropriate memory banks. Be aware that if you decide to start overclocking the memory, you may run into issues.
The QVL list simply a list of RAM that the manufacturer has tested with that motherboard. Standard JEDEC voltages/timings aren't an issue on any motherboard. Modules that are tweaked (increased voltage) may pose an issue. Just get RAM that is the proper speed and doesn't exceed the max capacity and you'll be fine.

so that link that i posted should run fine since it is 1600mhz 1.5volt ram, which is what the motherboard supports?

Thank you for your help, I'm not looking to overclock or anything, just simply upgrading to a 16gb kit as i've been avoiding upgrading from 4gb since forever ago.
