Hello Community - I am in need of assistance.
My wife works from home for her job. Her job provides her with a Juniper SSG5 router. From there we have our personal Netgear router that we use to stream movies, surf the net, etc.

When we first acquired the Netgear router, we had the configuration of Modem - Juniper - Netgear Router. After getting the Netgear router, our home network crashed sometimes several times a night. Netgear and myself sent router's back and forth for several months.
Finally, someone else that works with my wife suggested re-wiring the home network to go from the configuration above to the new configuration of Modem - Netgear Router - Juniper.

That worked great for about a week and a half.. then the last few days, my wife's computer has locked up on her 2 or 3 times a day while our home network seemed ok, as shown my still maintaining a connection to the net.

What everyone has told us is that the Netgear router and the Juniper are fighting and the Juniper is messing things up regardless of the connection.
Bigger problem is that without some type of fine tuning of the Juniper, we are going to continue to have these problems. But seeing how the Juniper came from my wife's company, to play with it and change settings could be a major issue for connection to her network, phone calls she is supposed to place and receive, etc.

Last night, we unchecked the box on the Netgear router for DHCP and our network was non-existent. We had to check the DHCP box again so that we had full access and everything worked the way it was supposed.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to take care of this. My two options as of now appear to be:

#1 – wire the way her company says and the home network will crash..
#2 –Wire it the different way and her work computer will freeze up randomly….

Thanks.
Dave

Joe - assuming when you say "Router 1" you are referring to the Juniper, the problem we have is the company has said that certain cables need to go into certain ports. Seeing how her company is not easy to deal with in certain situations, my wife is afraid to try too many combinations on the Juniper for fear of the workaround messing up her connection to her companies network (FYI Joe - when Yahoo runs one of those "Worst company in America" stories, her company is usually one of the top 3")

Joe - I am going to do my best to answer.... the current configuration is Modem - Juniper - Netgear Router.
On the Juniper - Port 0/0 appears to be the wire for that goes from the modem into her Juniper
Port 0/1 is for what is called the "Thin Client"
Port 0/2 is for the output from the Juniper to our Netgear Router.
On the Netgear Router, we have the wire from Juniper Port 0/2 going into the back of the Netgear Router that says "Internet".
My wife just called and said nothing is working....so to get more specifics now is not going to work.

Joe - my apologies. the picture i was referring to in my previous post according to my wife had the configuration of Modem - Router - Juniper.
The modem had a wire going into the back of the router that said "Internet". Then another wire from one of the extra LAN ports back down to the Juniper into Port 0/2. Port 0/1 is still the "Thin Client". Port 0/0 i believe is for the remaining work computer items.
