Hi there!

I recent went ahead and bought a hyper 212 evo so I could OC my cpu a bit. I installed it and things looked fine.

Before I began overclocking, i loaded the "Optimized Defaults" on my motherboard and installed the latest F10 bios update for the mobo - then began OCing.

After a few blue screens I landed on a stable 4.4-4.5 ghz as I wanted. However, now when I shutdown the computer, the computer shutsdown everything but the fans and the mobo LEDs. These stays on for about 3 seconds and then everything shuts down completely.

I tried put in the default settings to the computer -- returned everything to auto etc. -- but it still does not shut down immediatly like it used to.

Does anyone know what might be causing this or more importantly, how I may fix it?

I run a Gigabyte z68ap-d3 with an i5 2500K cpu

I'm not 100% on the Gigabyte board, but on my ASUS, power stays to the fans for a few after the PC shuts down to help continue to cool the components instead of leaving the stagnant air to try and do it. "After-shutdown cooling period" is the term used in this article (about 1/3 of the way down talking about the BIOS. http://www.kitguru.net/components/motherboard/luke-hill/asus-sabertooth-z97-mark-1-motherboard-review/all/1/

Chances are there is a bios setting.

I see - seems like a good explanation.. Might have turned itself on after the OC.

It's not that I mind my computer doing it, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't broken anything :p :D
