Solution
Read the individual motherboards' specifications to know what each motherboard does and does not support. With the 100-series chipset having configurable HSIO lanes shared between PCIe, USB3, SATA and M2, there may be significant deviations on simultaneously usable IOs and on-board extras, although most average users won't need most of them.

Asus has at least three h170 variants: H170-Pro/CSM intended for businesses, H170-E, H170 Gaming and H170 Plus. The Pro and Gaming variant are DDR4 while the other two use DDR3.
