Will my corsair 650 watts PSU be enough for r9 390 gpu?

I am about to upgrade by computer, and chose the r9 390 8gb over the gtx 970 but I realized I have 650w psu. I don't want my gpu to be held back by my psu or it to damage/affect it due to not enough power being supplied.

If my 650w psu would slow down the 390 in any case, I'd probably be better off with gtx 970 right?
I plan on running games on ultra 1080p and sometimes 4k.

Thanks.

650 is enough if its decent, I had mine on a 600 for a while till I upgraded. No difference in performance at all, but like others said, don't skimp on a PSU, you certainly don't want a gash 650

You could maybe get away with a 650W psu, but even for the GTX 970 or the r9 390 i would strongly suggest upgrading to a 700 or 800 watt psu. The r9 390 should be perfect for your gaming load.
