So im trying to figure out what my optimum setup should be without bottle necking something. Heres my build:
i4790K CPU
Nvidia 750 Ti GX
Thunderbolt
Wifi AC
Dell 29 high res ultra wide monitor
OSX loaded and use for Final Cut Video Editing
From the attatched "PCIe Info" link below, I am using Nvidia 750Ti Graphics card at slot 2 (PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16), a wifi/bluetooth card at slot 4 (PCIe 2.0 x1), and a thunderbolt card at slot 7 (PCIe 2.0 x16). I am wanting to use M.2 mode which shares the bandwidth of slots 1 and 4 (PCIe 2.0 x1).
My questions are as follows:
1. Am I getting optimum performance out of my graphics card being in slot 2?
2. Can I move my wifi/bt card from slot 4 to slot 5 with out bottlenecking something else?
3. Can someone please explain 2.0 vs 3.0 speeds and what happens when you put a x1 card in an x16 slot speed wise? And also how to understand which slots are being shared by each other from the PDF below?
