I have decided that I will get a PS3 in the near future for the Project Diva games. I need to get a new TV/Monitor to play them on as my mom isn't the biggest fan of the games and that limits my use of our livingroom TV. I am trying to decide between getting a monitor or a TV to play them on. I need something small, 24" or less. I am currently looking at
TV: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-24-class-23-8-diag--led-1080p-hdtv-black/1201012.p?id=1219478147534&skuId=1201012
Monitor: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-21-5-led-hd-monitor-black/5818083.p?id=1219159698849&skuId=5818083
Which should I go with? Which will give me the least lag? If you know of better TV's/Monitors for around that price point, please do tell. Thanks!

Hi SpiduhBMX,
The main question I need to ask is do you want the television to have in built speakers - because that and being able to tune to a radio/digital signal are the only differences between a TV and a monitor.
If either of those answers to those questions is a yes, we can look for a TV. If not, then a monitor will do you fine and arguably there's greater flexibility in terms of options for monitors.

I will be mainly just using headphones and I have a pair of PC speakers I can use if i ever want speakers.

Sorry - I'd seen your previous post and then needed to go to bed last night.
Anyway, do you have a particular size of screen in mind? It seems that your budget is roughly $130 but are you wanting a bigger monitor (if you're sat further away etc).
Are you going to connect anything else to the monitor - a PC/laptop, TV box etc?
And did you want it to have a TV functionality?

No worries, thanks for the help. I'm going to be sitting quite close to it, probably too close to be honest. I'd prefer 24" or less. I may connect a chromecast, and possibly use it as a second screen for my laptop every once in a while. It's mainly going to be just for the PS3 though. I really don't care if it does or doesn't have TV functionalty TBH. I just don't know wether a TV or monitor would work better for a PS3 and which would be cheaper.

I've gone on PCPartpicker and gone to the monitor section. There I've searched for $150 and less. Here's the link (sorted by price):
https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/monitor/#X=0,15540&r=192001080&sort=d8&page=1

Out of them all, I very much like the look of this one:
https://pcpartpicker.com/part/benq-monitor-gl2460hm
Reasons:
HDMI, DVI, VGA inputs - you can easily connect your laptop.
Built in speakers for the times where you might want to play the game without using your headset.
24" as you wanted.
BenQ is an established brand.
2ms response time (the lower the better)
26 good reviews.

Let me know your thoughts!

It seems quite nice, my only worry is, will there be any problems using a monitor for a PS3?
