Just upgraded from a 6950 to a r9 390. This is what my bios splash screen looks like now http://imgur.com/MJAbQc2. I am not experiencing any other problems with the card and the benchmarks are similar to what other people have posted online, so im not sure what the problem could be.

Any ideas?

Edit: specs

Gigabyte P55A-UD4P
powercolor r9 390 8gb

yes, as soon as the splash screen disappears windows boots fine, no artifacts/crashes/hangs. I have reseated card and tried switching pci slots. I also have tried switching the pci power cable on the psu, no change.

Yep, just a couple days ago I reset bios via jumper, when that didn't work I re-flashed. I'm on F14 which is the latest as far as I can tell.

This might not be relevant but the card is UEFI compatible. My motherboard is getting a little old and is not a UEFI bios. Could that have anything to do with it?

Yeah I have the card I just upgraded from, the xfx 6950. I tried putting that one back in and the splash screen goes back to normal.

My first thought was a problem with the new card. However I am not seeing any problems with it what so ever, save for the splash screen. Even resource intense games like FC4 and witcher 3 are running great on ultra.

Could be a bug between the card and the motherboard. Since the computer is just fine, apart from the splash screen, I wouldn't upgrade the motherboard until a future upgrade prompts an upgrade. Also, that's a very interesting splash screen. I suggest that you take another photo of it, and set it as the background.
