Im in desperate need to upgrade my video card. I currently have a severely crippled XFX HD 7770 in my computer and its on its last legs. Im currently stuck between two video cards. The MSI R7 370 and the MSI R9 380. They are both 4gb models. I've looked up some benchmarks for them and i was a little baffled. They were pretty similar. My question is this: Which one would be better for me? I am on a monthly budget, but I am willing to splurge a little bit on a good video card.

Other Info:
PSU: Corsair CX 600
CPU: Intel Core I5 3570k
RAM: 16gb
Current Video Card: XFX HD 7770

Nvidia is much better. Their cards generally need less power and create less heat. You could go the gtx 970 or the 980ti. They are both good options. I don't know too much about amd, but it seems the r9 380 is a good card.

Thanks for the accurate comparison. That webpage even had a list of games on the right, and the percentage scores of the video cards for them.

I hear about NVidia problems just like AMD... so no difference there... But you get MORE Value for the money with AMD.... just my opinion. I'm Neither an AMD fanboy.. NOR an NVidia fanboy... I just get whatever's the best "bang for my buck"....

Power usage is far more important to me than a couple of frames per second and when it comes to the compute side of things the GTX960 is the stronger card, for F@H at least.

I'm sure it is. However, some people like to overclock all their components... RAM, CPU, GPU... have multi monitors and 2+ cards inside. For someone like that... power consumption of a card become irrelevant.

I'm running six cards in four rigs over five monitors but I still think power consumption of individual components is quite relevant.

They're only giving a code for heroes of the storm the kaijo diablo skin and 7 day stimpack with 950 and 960. Blades and bullets if for 970 and 980.But definitely 380.

Thank you for the correction on the bundled game but having both cards I have to disagree that the 380 is the better one.

All benchmarks ive seen across youtube and forums beat 960 in most games with exception of gta 5 and mordor. Although i prefer a 960 since it's low power consumption but the 128 bit bus just kills that card and now since they're removing 2gb versions and leaving 4gb with cant fully utilize all memory bandwitdh i have to agree to disagree but other than that its a great card.
