How to Remove H100i GTX water cooler from CPU?

Hello, I bought an i7 6700 k to replace my FX 8350 and never removed a water cooler*closed loop* before. I can not find any videos on it.


Is there anything I should be aware of when removing the water cooled cpu? Thanks

You should be able to loosen the retaining ring, and then gently twist the pump to loosen the thermal paste. THen it should come off easily.

Clean off the thermal paste with approved solvent (or a solution of isopropyl alcohol) and a lint free cloth (I use coffee filters).

Thanks for the reply. I want to use this water cooler on my i7 6700k and Ill put my old evo 212 back on the fx8350. cheers.
