I have read the checklist and worked through it, and I am having no luck. So I built my pc with the following components:

MSI 940A-G43 mobo
AMD FX-8320 cpu
Kingston Hyper-X Fury 8GB RAM 1866Hz DDR3 ram
Sapphire Radeon R9 290 gpu
EVGA 600B Bronze Plus Power Supply

I got the system to work like a dream for a while, and then one day it started taking FOREVER to boot. Then I turned the system off, and when I went to turn it on, all it would do is power the fans, but it would never even make it to the BIOS screen. The monitor receives signal, otherwise it would say "DVI No Signal." I also noticed my peripherals After searching frantically for what could be wrong, I narrowed it down to a power supply issue.

I replaced the power supply with a Sentey 750w Bronze Power Supply Mpb750-hm. For the first few days this worked like a dream, I thought for sure I had fixed the problem. Then one day, I shut the computer down for the night, and I went to turn it on the next day and it is back to doing the same thing it did before with the first power supply.

I have worked through the troubleshoot checklist, and I even have the PC set up outside the case right now with just the cpu, ram and gpu installed. Even at this very minimal stage, when I turn the system on the fans all spin and stay spinning, but the system does not POST. It does not go to the BIOS screen. And my peripherals still don't receive any power.

I am tempted to say it is not the power supply since this has happened twice, could it be the mobo?

Yeah seriously man, I hate it when things seem to be good and then... nope. Be sure to let us here now if something goes wrong again. Until another time, happy computing!

Well, lets go through one by one. Did your case or motherboard come with a little speaker that plugs into the board? These can be very helpful in diagnosing problems. Or if your board has a post code LED readout that is great. Have you done a CMOS reset yet?

So the caseptic speaker does not beep upon startup. I removed the RAM, and the speaker produces 3 long beeps. No beeps with the RAM in any of the four slots.

It could be something like a power issue causing instability. Do you have any friends who have power supplies you could plop in your computer to test?

I could try another power supply, but I did that before. I bought a new power supply, it worked for 3 days, and then it stopped working and went back to doing the same thing as before.

In a way that makes in more suspicious. I also have never heard of that particular PSU manufacturer before. Now I don't know everything about PSUs, but usually it's a great sign when I don't know the brand name.

EVGA should have been good. Never heard of "SENTEY" before tho. I've got a lot of math homework to do, I'll get back to you in a bit!

Hey man! Sorry, I have been SWAMPED lately. Here's an idea: Try taking your power supply and using it in a different rig. If that rig no longer works, you know what the issue is!

Hey! So I ordered a new motherboard, and I installed all of my parts on the new motherboard, and everything seems to be working fine for now. Now, the last build was fine and didn't have any of those issues until I turned the computer off a few times. I restarted this one to see if it would come back on, and it seems to be working just fine. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
