I have had this computer for a few years now. I have put a new GPU in it in the past, And some new hard drives. Over the past 1-2 weeks it has been weird. My computer started with randomly shutting down when i'm playing a game on or or watching Netflix. It did that for about a week and then one time when it shut off it would start up and shut down continuously. I just put a new power supply in it today. Still having the problems.

These are the error codes i'm getting in a row one after another: 55 36 4F 96 62

Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
ASRock P67 Extreme4 Gen3
Asus Geforce GTX 960 STRIX Edition

Hard Drives: 74GB TOSHIBA MK8052GSX 931GB Seagate ST1000DL002-9TT153 149GB Seagate ST3160815AS (SATA) Another 300GB

Any help would be appreciated. I cannot put anymore money into my computer like i did with the power supply and it not fixing it.
Thanks

Sorry i forgot to mention what else i did to try to fix it. I tried using only 1 ram module in and of the 4 slots. With and without the graphics card. I tried without any ram aswell.

I ready up on the error codes and it says for one of them that the Memory isn't detected. Another one is a problem with the PCI-E devises. And another one is a chipset initialization error. Im not sure what to do considering im getting more than one error... Could it mean that the motherboard is the issue?

no telling ?? just got to take a start with something and head down the list of things ?

I did google around your board and card and did not see anything pop up with it so that's a good deal on that - some guys not so lucky with older boards

heres what I would try burn a bootable copy of Linux on a dvd and see how it does on it -no issues - may look at hard drive -same issues - ??

'The liveDVD is then bootable and provides a
fully-functional operating system which you can try without affecting your PC''

page 7/47

also run smart tests on all your drives with like WDm data lifeguard or seagates seatool or what ever your drives manufacture recommends

just to add unhook the hard drives if the issue comes up with Linux live dvd and eliminate each one in turn as you go or no hard drives hooked up at all

Alright so here's an update on it. I have tried one stick of ram and it gives me the same error codes in each ram slot. The other stick gives me code 55 which is bad ram in each slot. I have tried resetting CMOS on my Motherboard. I would try doing the linux bootable copy but i have no clue how. Im a noob at this stuff. Im basically doing what you guys say and what my brother says because he built the computer

My brother said i would be better off taking the CPU, GPU, PSU, and hard drives and building a new computer. Probably gonna do that unless anyone on here finds something. Thanks guys!

well I gusee I may of put the cart before the horse

do these errors occure when you first boot before you got to windows or when you get to windows

then just unhook the hard drive and just boot to bios screen

that Linux thing should be all in the notes I linked but you pretty much just burn the iso to a dvd ...

thing is seeing you just added harddrives and the issue started up ???

may just come down to the board may of just failed - its no spring chicken
