Here's a sample audio of the problem:

Having difficulty troubleshooting a noise... Seems there's a correlation with processor usage and a high pitched screeching noise... not super loud, but definitely irritating! Want to mitigate any damage as well.

Thought it might be Hard Drive, so cloned that and tried a new drive... sound still there. Took the side of the case off, tried to listen, really can't locate it. The best idea I have is near the bottom of the motherboard, behind/under the GPU. GPU is brand new, and noise was prior to new GPU.

Any ideas?

Any suggestions on trying to determine if its the PS, without having an alternate unit?

Sound definitely seems to come from the lower half. Does it sound like it might be bad fan bearings? If it is the PS fan, am I imagining a correlation between processing power and the noise?

Two things to note:

1. Sound has gotten worse over time, over the last 3+ months
2. Sound eases over time, nearly gone after 30+ minutes

I would try listening closely to the various components with the top of the case off.

The ideal would be to change out the PSU and see if the noise goes away.

I would also look at the SMART data of the drive and make sure that is not the issue. You can view it via software, such as Crystal Disk Info.

Thanks, I'll try replacing the PSU, cheapest component to start with and sound is coming from that area.

Just chiming in to say thanks to digitaldoc, despite the noise not conclusively coming from the PSU fan after trying to listen by ear, that was indeed the culprit. Replaced the unit, noise gone. Thanks!
