I have connected an ASrock Fatal1ty 970 performance with a AMD FX 6350 unlocked cpu, a crucial ballistik sport 8GB 1600mhz memory ram, and a PSU. I get 6 short beeps when turned on. No POST and no signal on display when i connect my video card. I keep getting 6 short beeps. Without memory ram i get 3 long beeps which makes sense according to http://www.asrock.com/support/qa/TSDQA-84.pdf
With or without the Video Card i get 6 short beeps. If i add another memory ram I get 6 short beeps still but now i get 12 short beeps after that, then it keeps repeating like this 6 short beeps, 6 short beeps, 12 short beeps.
Idk whats going wrong. Please help.
Also, i cannot find anywhere online a list for beep codes for ASrock Fatal1ty 970 performance besides these links:
http://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=286
http://www.asrock.com/support/qa/TSDQA-84.pdf
Both links do not say anything about 6 short beeps. The mobo manual doesnt even mention the beep codes.

Thanks for the reply, I have a ASUS Geforce GTX 750 TI 2gb. I have also tried a MSI Geforce 210 1gb. I have placed them in different PCIe slots and still get the same 6 Short Beeps code. Even if i remove the video card I still get a 6 Short Beep Code.
According to this http://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=286 I should get 5 long beeps for no video card but i dont get that either. :(

maybe another hardware error like the hard drive ? memory ?? optical drive ?? bad driver corrupt bios , bios needs flashing to newer for newer card s ? I guess with what you did with the cards you can maybe say that's not it for now ?? move on to something else ?

Thanks for the reply, I watched a newegg video about how to build a pc and was told that to get into bios to display, I did not need to connect a hard drive nor anything else. Just the cpu, the fan, memory ram, psu, and a video card. I dont want to assemble my whole PC if it does not POST. I mean i can build my whole PC and installed everything but i dont see how that would make my motherboard POST and display BIOS on my screen.

true now with the memory did you put all the sticks in ?? may just use one in it single rate slot [most times the slot closest to the cpu] and try - if it beeps swap sticks then swap slots [in line with the manual]

make sure you followed proper cpu seating and cooler mounting /paste.. you may need to reseat the chip as maybe a pin did not make good contact when latched down ??

recheck all your psu commections to the board as well go back and insure there all plugged in fully and properly [easy to miss or not get quite right or all the way in ]

thing is I was telling a guy looking at newegg reviews of just about any motherboard amd or intel or any brand seems there all around 50% [ + OR - some ] rating ,so ???

looks like maybe roll of the dice may come into play more then ever regardless what board you choose anymore

I use asrock and its been 100% solid for me so far [z87 exem.6 ] -better then my ''last'' asus it was just bad real bad

good luck
