My amd cpu keeps on over heating with the new cooler I bought. I've tried cleaning and re applying thermal paste 3 times and it still over heats. I can get to the bios and it shows the cpu temp rising. What the hell can I do? I've tried the pea method and spreading it out

Specs:
Amd 8350 Arctic freezer 13 cpu cooler
Gigabyte motherboard ga78lmt

Yeah maybe. When I was removing the old heatsink, the cpu was stuck to the cooler and came off even though it was locked into place

My guess is, You caused some damaged to the inner heat shield when you pulled the cooler+CPU away from the mobo. The best way to find this out is by using another CPU in your current motherboard to see if you are overheating. If it is still overheating then you know its you motherboard.

I think your CPU is overheating because of the PSU which might have been old.If you have some friend with good PSU ,ask him if he can give it to you and give it a try and see if it is overheating again.
Cheers
