I currently am using this system http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229619
I'm looking to try to start playing Black ops 3, Battlefront and Fallout 4. Everything shown on that pc is what I have, mine is stock.
I've been looking at some things to change within it. Have come to the conclusion of I need more ram and a better gpu. I usually play at 1280 x 720 as well, though playing at 1920 x 1080 would be nice.
Now my questions are does the brand or type of ram I buy matter?
What gpus should I be looking to buy?
The current ones I have in mind are the 750 ti, 760 and r9 270x.

Solution
you would have to use ddr3 because AMD cpus and your motherboard dont support ddr4. Different manufacturers of ram usually dont like to work well together, so I would recommend just to replace it with a 2x4gb kit. For the 750ti you can get the asus 750ti for $110 after rebate and that is one of the best 750 ti's on the market.

I would recommend to upgrade to at least 8gb, that it the current standard. I use about 5.5gb of ram when running Battlefront beta. The psu may be a problem with the r9 270x and 760 because its only 500w and pre built computer manufacturers usually skimp on the power supply. A 750 ti would work great seeing it only requires a 300w power supply and youll be able to run some of the games smoothly at medium settings pretty smoothly. Some 750 ti's will require a 6 pin power connector, so make sure your computer has a free 6 pin power connector if you purchase one with a 6 pin. Most do not however, but if it does then it allows the card to utilize more power so you can overclock farther resulting in better performance.

Would it be worth upgrading to a 600 or 750 psu in order to grab a 760 or should I just buy the 750 ti and some ram?

It all depends on your own budget. A new psu with a 960 will be ~$240-280 USD. A 750 ti with some new ram should only be ~$130-160 USD. If you are not too concerened with maxing every game out at 60 at 1080p and are fine with playing game at medium or a mixture of medium/low or medium/high depending on the game then go with 750ti, but if you want the chose with the most power that you can max games out at 1080p then the 960 would be the better choice. Again it all depends on your budget and what you want out of the card.

Alright thanks guys, I think I'll just grab a 750 ti.
As for ram can you explain what I'd buy?
I see a lot of different types. DDR4 or DDR3?
Does the brand matter?
Can you recommend any for me to buy or use?
