What are my options for a good graphics card for my PC?

Currently, my PC uses the Integrated Intel HD graphics.

I am not a gamer. As far as PC games go, I enjoy the old Nintendo games using an emulator on my PC. There are some newer PC games that I would like to make certain my system could handle. Therefore, I would to install a graphics card to my HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF. I enjoy playing Chess, Texas hold 'em, and some PC board games (Monopoly) and I want my PC to be able to run the latest Fritz Chess PC software without problems. The Integrated Intel HD graphics is limited on processing 3D game graphics, even though the most recent Intel graphics driver is installed, I have 4 sticks at 4 GB each (16 GB total) of RAM that the integrated Intel HD graphics can draw from, my PC graphics card settings are set to "performance", and my PC power usage settings are set to "high performance".

Again, mainly my graphics gaming needs are for running the newest Chess Fritz and most realistic Poker PC software. I don't need a graphics card super fancy just one that works with my PC's power supply and motherboard that meets these gaming needs.

The HP Compaq 6200 Pro Small Form Factor PC - Specifications webpage (link below) is from 2011 or 2010. I am looking to find a more recent grpahics card and a card that is at least 1 GB that will work with my PC. Please, can I get some feedback with information on good, newer graphics cards that will work with my PC.

Geez, what are you guys talking about? Answer if you know the answer

Here are your option
ZOTAC GeForce GT 740 ZT-71006-10L 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card
$64.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500340&cm_re=low_profile_video_card_pci_express_x16-_-14-500-340-_-Product

Yeah unfortunately it is the best you can get from low profile gpu. And I tell you beforehand, its a weak gpu for gaming. But it should run your poker pc without any problem. It uses 64 watt and should have no problem with your 240 watt power supply. And lastly, it will surely fit with it kit for low profile bracket included in the package.

Please pick as best answer if helps

I have a Lenovo SFF from around 2010 and chose the PNY GT 730 DDR5 model. It's nice and thin + low profile, so it fit into one slot (unlike many that need two). It should use about 25 watts.

I have a 280 watt power supply and didn't really feel comfortable going above 25 watts or so. Guess higher might work... or maybe not.

Bios is the real enemy with older systems. Some won't even recognize certain cards. Just get it from a place with easy returns if you run into a problem.

I've had great luck with the Zotac NVidia GT-610 for these types of situations. Fits the low profile fine, doesn't need much power, and over-performs compared to other low end NVidias. Only takes a PCIE-X1 slot.

I know this is a bit old but...

I have a HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF with stock everything and went with a low profile Radeon HD 6570 1GB and it works just fine, even for games. I play the latest version of America's Army: Proving Grounds and it plays well. Granted I turn down some of the settings but I definitely don't have the settings in the game set to all low. For the most part I have the settings on medium. I've also played Smite on it, again just turning some settings down to medium, and the card works great. The PC hasn't overheated or anything. I'll play for 6-8 hours at a time, too, so I know it's getting a workout.

Very very late post but I am helping others who may look at this.

Don't listen to these "professionals" who write in bold text and think their word is final.

I am typing this on a hp pro 6200 sff with a 240w psu and a msi gtx 750 ti low profile card. I will probably be upgrading to a 1050 ti soon.

Agreed. A year since I posted on this, and GT610s are no longer to be found, but by all means if you can get a low-profile 750ti, it's a go and with much better performance than the 600s. They sip power, and performance is excellent!

Thanks for your info. This old thread is still relevant because HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF models have sweet prices on eBay now, and LP cards with newer GPUs are available. Mine: HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF i5-2400 3.1GHz, 8 GB. I just upgraded the PSU to a Rosewill M550 after reading another post here on Tom's for modding a similar HP model. Made my own adapter for ~$10 USD. I'll try to test w/ the stock 240W PSU for those who don't want to upgrade their PSU (since it no longer fits inside the case; going to address that later).

Based on your post @A1exDaBoss I've ordered the following card and will report back. Let us know if you got one, too. The MSI card was discounted on Jet, picked it up for $135 w/ free shipping in USA. I'll let you know if it works after it arrives:

MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti DirectX 12 GTX 1050 TI 4GT LP 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card

Hello.

Ordered an MSI gtx 1050 ti low profile and it works fine with the stock 240w PSU, no modding needed. I have a HP 6200 pro sff with an i5 2400 just like the one you mentioned.

Not only does the MSI GTX 1050 Ti work, it works great! I'm using it w/ Oculus DK2 for VR, smooth performance on the experiences I've tried. Also posted the Catzilla results 17778 without other apps running. I already added the Rosewill M550. Looks like it's not even required. Loving my HP 6200 Pro SFF w/ VR.

I gues Zotac nvdia gt 730 2gb ddr5 will run smoothly and fit in it as well plus even zotac nvdia gt 1030 2gb ddr5 newly launched may 2017 will also fit in it.
I am about to finalise amoungst these two cards for my 2nd hand brought hp 6200pro sff i3 varient.

You also can comment as well.

Waiting for positive feedback.
