Hello, i have a PSU which i'm really satisfied with and i want to overclock my system with it, so my question is - which tier is my PSU?
PSU: Fortron Hyper 700
(Certification 85 Plus) - what's the difference between 80 Plus and 85 Plus?

My CPU: Intel Xeon X5570 @ 2.93GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 960
MOBO: GIGABYTE X58 USB3
Cooler: Zalman CNPS10X Performa
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 1600MHz (2x8GB Stick)

Solution
This is not 80-Plus

When it comes to efficiency, FSP has listed Hyper 700 as a "Meet 85 Plus" sticker on the front of the box. This isn't the standard Bronze / Silver / Gold / Platinum / Titanium certification system, but instead a requirement by the EU for system builders. In order for a system-builder to use a PSU in the perspective system, said power-supply needs to pass an 82-85-72% @ 230V input check-up
.

So it does not pass 80 Plus certification.

80 Plus ratings is a measure of energy consumed. In general, components which are more efficient perform better and generate less heat. However, it does not necessarily mean that one with a higher rating performs better or is of better quality. I do not even look at 80 plus ratings tho, picking on quality and performance, you will find that most of today's current units are Gold or Platinum ... but there's many excellent PSUs with Bronze ratings.

As for tiers, again, I don't pay attention. Tier list are useful if you don't have a general idea of where to concentrate your search efforts and get you in the ballpark. But just because a Batgirl 750 PSU gets a great rating, doesn't mean that the Batgirl 450 or 1050 is equally deserving. Narrow down your choices in tier ists and the go look at respected sites for detailed reviews (jonnyguru, hardwaresecrets, techpowerup) on your specific model or one as close in size as possible to the one you are looking at.

The smoothing, reservoir capacitor is a CapXon (470μF, 420V, 85°C). The secondary side is further filled with CapXon caps. These are not reputable caps unfortunately, and it would have been nice to see some Chemi-Con or Nichi-Con caps instead.

The Hyper 700 is a decent power supply. Not very expensive, and with a performance that seems to match the specs written on the packaging.

On the outside, the PSU is actually impressively built. It features sleeving on each cable and a very subdued design that reminds me of Corsair's low-end series. Unfortunately inside, the build quality is only average.

Still, looking at its pwerformance, suggests a decent enough power-supply, with a dual-rail +12V to ensure voltage stability output, and efficiency figures that align with the provided specs. Yes, it doesn't have the Bronze / Silver Plus certification, but it still manages to retain the appropriate efficiency numbers.
