Howdy, I currently have a r9 290 Crossfire configuration. With everything I'm reading, it appears the 290 will not be optimized "fully" for the supposedly new Direct X 12 games coming soon. However, the R9 390x will be? I'm considering selling both 290's to get 1 390x for future gaming. Will that be a good move?

By the way, the crossfire configuration is a little disappointing. Can I resolve that issue by just getting the 390 and use the whole 8GB vram without crossfire?

AMD 6300 3.5Gb
R9 290 Crossfire 4GB x 2
16GB 1600 RAM
Gigabyte 770
No overclocking.

Thanks

no card from AMD or Nvidia currently "fully" support DX12 yet.
the only main difference between the 290X and 390X is the 390X cost more, has 8GB VRAM and has a 25W lower TDP.

I would recommend you stay with your 290 Xfire setup as 2 290's will whoop a 390X ass any day
