Hello. I recently had a change in some parts in my PC and swapped my 4790 for a 4790k with no intentions of overclocking, but for the higher speed. Fixed it up today. Using a stock cooler - the aftermarket one I purchased arrived broken so I'm waiting on a replacement - and I'm worried about my temps. Using Arctic Silver compound. I idle at about 29-30, but usage with Chrome and other apps fluctuates the temps anywhere from 33 to 51c, and it quickly drops back down. In Passmark's full CPU test my temps fluctuate from 33 to about 83c at highest load. It went to 90c for a split second too. I know thermal paste requires some time to "cure" and that fluctuations can be normal, but I'm still worried. I can see my temps being mostly even across cores, but at load it varies - once there was a 12 degree difference in core temps.
Are these normal? Any tips to reduce the heat?
